Since the prospect of learning an entirely new operating system can be a little daunting, we’re here to make it as easy as possible. Fowler can provide training on a large number of things but in some instances though, there’s no sense in reinventing the wheel. In the case of Apple products, some of the very best training that can be had is both free and readily available straight from the horse’s mouth.

Do you need a video camera so you can document all of the cool and innovative things your church does? Need something simple you can hand to anyone to use but still gives you broadcast quality pictures? JVC has the answer for you. The new GY-HM100 brings many professional features into an extremely compact camera. Not much bigger than the “good” video cameras from the big box stores, this new mighty—mini camera packs two full size XLR inputs, a Fujinon 10x zoom lens, a full compliment of manual controls, and two SDHC card slots for recording. That’s right, this is a full tapeless video camera. All the rage right now, tapeless cameras can dramatically decrease the amount of time you spend in front of the computer editing your footage. You no longer have to sit and wait on the footage to play back into the computer in real time; you just transfer the file through a card reader to your hard drive.

These files are native Final Cut Pro files so there’s no import, capture, transcode, or rewrapping that has to happen before you can edit. If you don’t know what that means, then this is the camera for you. And that’s the point; you can take this camera out of the box and start shooting without a training session. Once you know a little better what you’re doing, all of the manual controls are there for you to tweak.

Super compact, simple to operate, full featured, and fast to edit. The GY-HM100 is the perfect camera for churches getting into video productions or looking for a good production camera for field use.
